Silvia Esparza, CNM
Nurse Midwife
Silvia has been a community birth midwife since 2015. She began her home birth practice in 2017 and founded Birth Haven—the first licensed birth center in Amarillo—in 2018. Silvia is married and a mother of four. She personally experienced midwifery care during her first two births while serving in the military.
Silvia believes birth is a natural process and trusts in the innate wisdom women possess to bring their babies into the world safely. Her passion lies in empowering women through education, helping them make informed decisions that best support their families.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Texas A&M University in 2007 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University in 2015. Silvia proudly holds the distinction of being the first full-scope Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to practice in Amarillo.
